One more ep to go in the first drop. The next batch drop will be the rest of the episodes.
It’s still crazy over-the-top epic, as it should be for one of the greatest tales in the world. The godlike powers of the heroes and villains are awesome. Shoot one arrow, crackling with green lightning, and it multiplies into dozens of arrows midflight that explode when they hit. Magic prana blasts - weather control, fire breathing, so much magic. So many battles. The battlefield formation strategies remind me of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Krishna is making a lot more sense to me symbolically. His role has always been about faith but watching this, I’m getting that on a deeper level. I love when he goes full deity with a paisley swirling halo and spinning a glowing magic chakra on his fingertip like a master pizza chef twirling dough.
The rules of war are fascinating. And the notion of warrior’s honor is so critical to the morality play. Great stuff. Lessons on karma and dharma woven within the action of the biggest medieval battle ever.
This is unlocking another aspect of Indian culture for me that beautifully poetic.
