I'm still listening to this one. It is absolutely one of the best reggae albums I've heard in years. Every track shines (although it took me a while to warm up to Curly Locks and Vampire).

Sinead's Throw Down Your Arms tour will be at the Warfield March 1st, the day after my birthday. I'm getting tickets, not working. It's been a while since I've bought tickets for the Warfield. Care to join us?

All klingonisms aside, I'll pass, but if you are gonna be in the neighborhood, let's hook up before hand. I have quite a bit of whiskey and tequilla since people give me bottles of the stuff and I drink only a little at a time.

Dreadlock Holiday is classic, but it lacks the true one drop. It's another attempt at pop rock to reconcile nyabingi riddem and if I was into that, I could go back to Kauai and dial up their 24/7 reggae and island radio station. How I miss my Kauai mustang convertible. Actually, that's what I liked most about Sinead's album - she went for the roots unlike so many other rockers who tried to popify the sound. Take No Doubt, for example, again with Sly and Robbie. I enjoyed that album, but I worked that tour (in the pit, no less). Gwen Stephani understands dancehall well, but she's not roots reggae, and despite the ever-appealing sex-up factor, it's roots natty roots for me.

I'll take a raincheck on the way to the yeti bar. Whiskey is always warming between old friends, but tequila usually leads to kareoke and I don't want to go there with you. No offense. I'll probably be coming up from work so I doubt I'll have time that day, being Wednesday and all.

I thought that was Sinead's M.O. Make a booking, break a booking. Or is there some other reason? Maybe she realized Reggae without the ton just isn't happening? Face it, Reggae is passed. Long Live Sean Paul, Long Live Rihanaa, Long Live Reggaeton. Come, Mr DJ won't you turn the music up. The Kids on the dance floor wanting some more.

I actually like Sean Paul for what he is and was disappointed that I didn't get out to see him when he came through last. I bet he can really sex up the dancehall. I'm sure the same is true for a good reggaeton. I'll get out to see them someday. :-)

I play Green Day a lot but have yet to unwrap Matisyahu.
