Blood Sugar Fun
OMG! We are talking about dated pill containers! We are the olds.

I've had one of those for trips for quite some time.

I got a more portable one. It's black with individual day containers separated into day and night compartments. I love it.

Hold the phone. Did I just say I love my pill container?

Alas, you're so right.

We old.

Am I the only one without a pill container here? Am I the only one not on prescription medicine?

No pill container, but I am on regular meds. KB is officially Not An Oldy Oldster (along with TG, I think)

I don't have any pill containers of my own. Lots of extras tho.

Just got done with an acupuncture treatment for tennis elbow and a condition called "Dupuytren Contracture"...

Get off my (dead) lawn, pull your pants up, and turn down that awful music!

I do take fiber - pretty geezer-ish there - and a magnesium/zinc combo. But that's it.

Woo-hoo! I'm switching to Dark Chocolate.

Crap, it only lessens the risk of getting Type 2 Diabetes, it doesn't cure it. Plus a lot of other caveats if you read the full report. Stupid facts.

Quote:A large new study suggests there might be good reason to indulge in chocolate this holiday season: It found that people who regularly ate chocolate had a lower likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes.

But the findings came with an important caveat. It was only dark chocolate that was associated with a lower risk of developing the disease, not milk chocolate. It’s not entirely clear why that is. But the researchers believe that dark chocolate offers greater metabolic benefits than milk chocolate because it contains less sugar and higher levels of plant compounds that have been shown in some studies to reduce inflammation and improve insulin sensitivity.

While many previous studies have examined the health effects of eating chocolate, the new study, which was published in the BMJ on Wednesday, is one of the few to specifically compare dark and milk chocolate. It’s also one of the largest studies on the topic to date.

If dark chocolate was the cure for type 2, what a wonderful world it would be.

I only eat dark.

Woo-hoo. I was at the parade in Raymond and decided to treat myself to a Bobba Thai Iced Tea Slushy. Wow did I spike my sugar. I haven't see it hit that number in years.

Fellow diabetics want to know...
