Salinas air show this weekend will have 2 different jet teams flying. I don't know if they use Monterey Airport as a base for that.

Figures.

That first jet was ridiculously loud and made a vertical climb until we couldn’t see it anymore.

Dinner was veg kabobs with veggies & rice. Typical caterer that doesn’t understand that vegetarians need protein too. Needed more spice.

Still quite warm.

Beautiful sunset. Still warm. I should tune into some music.

Chief Adjuah on the main stage for sunset. We’re at med camp enjoy libations. The music is perfect, cool sunset jazz.

Now I understand - you're working. I thought you were a paying customer before and was thinking it was odd

Jason Moran with blank forms was space, like deep spac that never gets to Drumz, not even to a song.

Ben (my rider yesterday) got the works from Sista’s fried green tomatoes - plus fries and a lot of fried catfish. He got it to share and we feasted along with Dave (our controller, retired fireman).

The MJF opened up, like it does. Blowing my mind and every turn.

Student jam section’s 1st drummer was fire- this is 3 midwestern colleges all taking turns jumping into classic rhythms and jamming away. Super fun and energetic.

Samara Joy’s voice is truly incredible - she a big woman with big lungs and can hold a note through an immense number of permutations for a long single breath. Such control and precision.

Christian Pepin and the Orcquesta Bembe was poppin. Big dance crowd. High energy. Super fun.

We sat for a safety meeting of Slane, Dalwhinnie 15 and some Barrell rye, listening to the last acts. It started to cool off but we could still see stars and I wasn’t chilly in a light jacket.

Had two calls. Both etoh females. One was outside so 911 took it over and we just assisted.

The tule fog on the way home was intense - had to slow to 10 mph to see the lines. Not fun.

Blind Boys of Alabama killed it. 80 years and still strong. Great version of Amazing Grace to House of the Rising Sun. Saturday is my blues day!

Soul Rebels - nawrlins brass band with a fantastic susuphone (sp?) bassline.

Fog came in. Cold now.

Dinner was this weird seared cauliflower & beans. Beans were good.

Hunter ones at garden is a good soundtrack

"Sousa" as in "John Phillips Sousa" who wrote the Libery Bell March

Wot?

Jackie Venson started out more pop, almost a Prince homage and it wasn’t knocking me out. Then she dropped Keep On, her reggae song, and followed with power blues and I was all in. That woman can shred. Thought about going to the meet & greet but bailed to get a 4th row center seat for orquesta bembe.

Finished the night with Orquesta Bembe again.

No tule fog. Got home in 40 mins.

Much colder tonight - more like Monterey
