He follows me on twitter, you know.

(Yes, I'm going to be trotting that out for a long time. Deal with it)

I'm eyeball deep in sith right now.  So it was funny to see Darth Maul close out season 2.  I was ready to bail on it after the weak Leia episode at the beginning of the season, but the last few eps picked up.   That being said, I thought they did a horrible job depicting Maul.  He was more like Peter Cushing than Ray Park.  But I suppose that was closer to the Clone Wars Darth Maul.  I might rewatch some of those this weekend - the Darth Maul story arc where his body gets left on a trash planet, and then his bottom half gets rebuilt by trash droids; they give him bionic spider legs.  Plus the Maul family is introduces.  Rebels takes place after Clone Wars as Ashoka (the only character of interest to come out of Clone Wars) plays a major role.

But what you're really interested in is my take on CBS's new Rush Hour series, right?  meh.  I like John Foo (and anyone is better than Tucker), but frankly, if you're going to redo a Jackie Chan film franchise for TV, the fight choreography needs to deliver. The fights were really unimpressive.

What made this even tougher for me was the fact that El Rey's Flying Five Finger One Armed Eight Pole Shaolin Exploding Death Touch Thursday was showing that wonderful 80s Shaw Brothers comedy, Lady Is the BossRush Hour just couldn't hold a candle to Kara Hui, Gordon Liu and Lau Kar Leung, doing disco Kung Fu, dirt bike Kung Fu, and other absurd Fus. I found myself resenting having to flip back to Rush Hour after enjoying some Lady Is the Boss during CBS commercial breaks. Lady Is the Boss would make an outstanding DOOM flick.

Darth Maul's momma was Talzin.  Maul was Dathomirian Zabrak.  His brother was Savage Opress.

And this is how I know the FORCE is with us on this.  Look what Netflix just dropped:

So yeah, S&T are in NYC.  They say they are looking at colleges, but they've also seen two shows, the met, and more.  I'm glad and jealous they are having a good time.  Me, I'm taking care of business, and my beloved pom.

So you'd think I'd binge on some Kung Fu movies, but no.  I've been binging on Darth Maul.  It's for work.  Ray is our next cover - don't tell - actually, what am I saying?  Half of us are involved already.  Anyway, yea, it's work.

I watched all the Maul episodes of Clone Wars, sorted thanks to the interwebz.  Binging a series just following one character's story arc is the way to go with these sorts of shows. Maul's story just kind of ends.  The series moved on and never came back to his story arc.  After that season, it was dropped, but picked up for a final season by Netflix, and that abandoned any Maul arc, so maybe they will try to pick it up in Rebels

I watched all the Edgar episodes of Heroes.  Even in its 4th and final season, it was far superior to the current redux.  Zachary and Hayden just raise the bar on that show. The lack of season 5 left the story hanging, and it was somewhat resolved in the new series, but I don't know (or care) if they ever went back to the Carnival.

I even watched Park's cameo on Nikita as a steroidal operative.  He snuck in a dragon-climbs-the-pole pop up from wushu.  Good on him.

Now I'm debating because all that's left I'd have to rent off iTunes - GI Joe 1 and Ecks vs Sever.  I don't think I ever saw GIJ1 and I think I did see EvS but totally forgot it - it is considered by many critics to be one of the worst films ever made.

Maybe I'll move on...

Darth Maul is going to be on the cover? That's awesome. Hopefully you will use a photo where he is in full Darth Maul mode.

Back to Rush Hour, the last ep picked up, and there were two friends in it, so I'm still watching. The action stepped up. And I do like Wendy. As a mag publisher, I watched Just Shoot Me and always related most to her character.

Been tuned into the final episodes of the Good Wife. Another show that I will be sad to see go. It had such great characters.

T has discovered Supergirl and agrees it is in the same humorous vein as Sailor Moon.

Castle has been amusing lately, light funny episodes, but not enough Beckett being badass anymore.

Rush Hour may have won me over with ep 5. A very predictable plot twist but improved action choreography.

All the late night talk shows are hilarious but given the absurdity of this election, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

The Good Wife finale hardly felt final. Will returning as a force-ghost was nice although I would've much preferred to see Kalinda. When she left, the series faltered. But the ending was such a slap in the face, literally, leaving so much ambiguity.

Another show of great characters whom I will sorely miss. Goodbye Alicia. Sorry it ended this way. You deserved better.

I'm hooked on Preacher on AMC. And I always say how much I disdain comic book movies.

RNC - I only watched bits of it. I saw some crossed arms in the audience as they chanted "Lock Her Up!". I think this must have been the scene preceding it:

I was sort of kind of excited by Preacher despite it's Seth Rogen progeny. I watched the first two episodes and felt a tremendous sense of 'meh'. The same feeling I get from Fear the Walking Dead.

If I ever return from my travels, I might revisit it. I'm more looking forward to Mr. Robot which is spooling up on my DVR at the moment.

I ditched "Blindspot" a while back as the plot holes were too bad even for me. Castle ended abruptly. Waiting for Agents of Shield to return. Zombie shows are not doing it for me. Every time I tune in, it is people looking dirty, sweaty, and stressed-out, all in bad lighting (with the very occasional zombie).

The good news is that Killjoys and Dark Matter are back. Fun!
