Trailer Park Boys
This show is Canadian. This show is old. I'd never heard of it until I heard an interview with one of the cast. I went and found Season 1 on the Internets. Like BBC seasons, each season is six episodes. I blasted through the first season and am on Season 2 now. The show begins with two guys who get out of prison in Nova Scotia and go back to their trailer park. They spend the rest of the season trying to regain control of their domain. It's deadpan comedy, shot like a mockumentary. It's pretty funny. Some of the acting isn't the best, but maybe it gets better after the first season. The main character Julian is the "brains" - alway carries a drink. Ricky is...well, Ricky. I've known people like him. Scary...He has a Jedi way with the law. Bubbles...lives in a shed and is the most balanced of the group. Ellen Page (from Juno) comes in in Season 2 in the role of the Trailer Park Manager's daughter. There are seven seasons total. Here's some of the titles from Season 1: Season 1, Episode 1: Take Your Little Gun and Get Out of My Trailer Park Original Air Date—22 April 2001 Childhood friends Ricky and Julian are released from prison after eighteen months and return to their trailer park home to find it taken over by a gun toting moron named Cyrus. Julian, determined to go straight and clean up his life vows not to hang around with Ricky anymore, who he holds responsible for him being sent to prison. All this is chronicled by a production crew filming a documentary about Julian's life. Season 1, Episode 2: Fuck Community College. Let's Get Drunk and Eat Chicken Fingers Season 1, Episode 3: Mr. Lahey's Got My Porno Tape! Season 1, Episode 4: Mrs. Peterson's Dog Gets Fucked Up Season 1, Episode 5: I'm Not Gay, I love Lucy. Wait a Second, Maybe I am Gay Season 1, Episode 6: Who the Hell Invited These Idiots to My Wedding? Who knew the Canucks were so funny... --tg

It's the final season! It's tonight! I can't wait. I wonder how few of our questions will actually be answered?

It's so obvious! The Professor could build a friggin' time machine from bamboo and coconuts and he couldn't fix a yard-wide hole on the Minnow? It was all about the women. Howell is into old chicks (a rich guy without a trophy wife?) and the Skipper and Gilligan are obviously gay (hello sailor!) That leaves Mary Anne and Ginger for the Professor. The Professor was one smart dude. I'm just sayin...

I have a psychologist friend who would do personality profiles based on which Gilligan's Island person you related to best. He's a frickin genius.

TV! It is my friend, thanks to my other friend, DVR.
I like: Burn Notice and Chuck, along with the current Stargate franchise.

Did you notice that the current Stargate:Universe has John Scalzi as it's creative consultant?
Ditto on the Burn Notice and Chuck. Although Chuck is a bit uneven.

Almost caught up on Chuck last night. Forgot to mention here that John Barrett's current band The Maids of Honor got a song into the fight scene in Episode 10 (the one with the Terminator II bad robot). The song is "Black and Blue" and features our very own Santa Cruz Derby Girls chanting their pre-game rally cry.

I'm liking the new Doctor (Who?). I'm way behind on Fringe, Lost, and FlashForward. I also have V queued up, but I hear it sucks. Is there anything else on TV right now?

Justified, if you like modern day westerns. And as always, The Soup.
