I stayed away from this book. It seemed like one of those books rushed out to fill a certain need, much like all the Zombie books and movies. But there is a sequel to this book and I was out of books so I grabbed it from my library ( I love my library)
And the book is fine. It has a gimmicky way of telling the story which is a series of Flashbacks told by a man looking at archival footage. So, it is all snippet of stories. The novel would have worked just as well as a straight novel without the framing device. I never got a sense of dread or fear that the end of the world should have evoked. The main bad robot doesn't strike fear into me. He calls himself a god but he is always easily defeated in the battle with the humans.
Ultimately it read easily but never engrossed me. Lots of mechanized mayhem.

So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
