Gas is freakin' expensive. How do people manage with SUVs? The Fit gets decent mileage, but there's nothing like the Prius. Plus I miss the gliding starts and stops and the quiet red lights.

Dear DM.
You would find it a lot quieter at those red lights if you just stopped complaining.
Speaking of which, are you sure you're actually at a red light, or are you just mistaking your car for one?

P.S. Good seeing you at lunch.

Try telecommuting and a Honda Civic for errands. Amazingly cost-effective. The downside is that your people skills deteriorate over time.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I think it was DM who said (in the days before Political Correctness)
"Chinese people can't drive worth shit, I can't believe you're stupid enough to give us licenses."
That line always makes me smile when I see the the 110-year old Asian lady going 35mph in the fast lane of the freeway.
As for the gas thing, always make sure you fill up at a station with lots of SUV's. Whistle and grin as you top off. Say something like 'whoa - almost ten gallons this month, guess I better ease up on those trips to Reno!'.
It's a hoot.
