I don't know what episode I'm on( ep6 or ep7) but it's the one with the attempted autoshop robbery. Both Johnny and Daniel are dicks. I think the only redeeming character is Johnny's first student, but we'll see. They are setting up a lot of Romeo and Juliet scenarios which is good.
Johnny still teaches the worst lessons with just a hint of truth. It's nice to see Johnny's back story.

S1 Ep8 The tension ratchets up. It's funny to see the Karate Kid story told from Johnny's viewpoint. Did like the dog big in the junk yard.
It's funny to see the intersection of all the lives and the different forces at work.
Where did Johnny get all the money to pay off his dad and to fix up his apartment? He runs a struggling Dojo.

I wondered about where Johnny got that cash too. It felt like they had Asner in the cast and then due to some unknown reason, he needed to be written out. I had totally forgotten that he was in this because it had been two years since I saw his initial appearance.
Johnny's perspective has been bandied about for years. Daniel is the real dick. It was echoed in How I Met Your Mother.
It always bugged me that Daniel's winning crane kick was illegal.

Yeah, I was thinking in those tournaments, you wouldn't be able to kick to the head.
Although, I now have the super secret kick to look forward to that you can only do while balancing on one hand.

Yeah, that kick was stoopik. Like Luke on Dagobah. This franchise has always had stoopik martial arts.
Johnny comments on that kick being illegal later - I think that's in s2e9.
s1e9 is kinda sweet, until it all falls apart, to set up the season finale.

S1 Ep9 more on that kick! But just a little. Hey everything comes together for a millisecond before it all falls apart. The bonding scenes were fun. And I like the message that if we learn Karate, we can be bullies and jerks, too. Karate builds confidence! The confidence to be assholes.

S1 Ep10 The grand finale. The All Valley Tournament. I had bad flash backs when I saw them assemble the matts. It's all about the tournament. It goes where you expect it to go maybe not just as vicious as KK. And it's a sour victory for all those around. Lots of eating bitter
Zabka does a good job in this episode. Lots of conflict for him that he played really well. I liked the surprise at the end but you could sense it was coming.
The fights at the tournament were pretty terrible. Even tQ remarked on all the cartwheels and flipping as in why are they doing that. And I got to see the super special kick which looked silly.
Why aren't they wearing protective gear in the under 18 category?

S2 begins!
Ep 1 What a lot of silly training methods. Although I like the impetus behind Johnny's lesson more than I do Dani's. It's also great they pick up these lessons in an hour or so. And the fact the inside of Johnny's training vehicle looked nothing like the outside Johnny's training vehicle didn't bother me at all.
I think the soap opera surrounding the karate is what set's it apart. Everyone struggles. I do think Johnny needs to donkey punch Reese immediately though and kick him to the curb. Of course, then there wouldn't be much show.
Onward.

S2 Ep 3 and 4, I think. The big battle at the Valley Fair. Danny finds balance. Johnny gets a computer and learns about internet porn. Although, how he got Wifi and then the internet is a mystery. The new girl at Cobra Kai. The annoying kid continues to annoy.
They mystery of Reese wasn't a surprise.

S2 Ep8 It occurs to me that the Larussos had a 2nd kid. What happened to him for the last five episodes or so?
Reese continues to be a compelling villain. I'm ready for him to start his own club. Johnny continues to evolve. The worst Maiyagi-do martial artist continues to annoy. They should find a large hole to put him at the bottom of.
When does S3 come out?

2021. It's in the can. They filmed in Okinawa so there are a lot of predictions that Chozen or Kumiko will appear.

S2 Ep9 The one where Daniel and Johnny reconcile much like in S1 Ep9 so everything can go to hell in Ep10 for the finale.
S2 Ep10 Everything goes to hell.
Well, that was fun. The cast must have loved that fight. It went everywhere and had everything. I'm going to give the brawl to Myagi-do and it would have been more fun except for the ending. Annoying kid was annoying and should be punched. Good to see the boy child back from camp. I can't wait for S3
