pillow sword was bandied about in the 17th century... - Drunk Monk - 02-26-2010

...I know, it's a bit dated, but I still say 'groovy.'

So there you have it.

Re: My job is not so bad... - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 03-12-2010

Tuesday night, from 10pm to a little past midnight working in the puddles of light at my workbench at Victory, listening alternately to my iPod (Playlist titled "El Dingo Presents") and the driving rain, sipping a little whisky as I go.

Life could be much, much worse.

Thank you all for being a part of my life.

Re: My job is not so bad... - El Dingo - 03-17-2010

Right back 'atcha Snow-Beast.

You should wipe up those puddles of light though. They contain bacteria that will damage most surfaces if left to fester.

I just got the traditional weapon samples - Drunk Monk - 04-27-2010

Our market is more towards flimsy wushu weapons so when we get these nicer traditional weight pieces, we usually just sell them at our annual parking lot sale. I called dibs on a few and scored. These are all strong enough to punch through a car door, the basic traditional weapon requirement.
The take:
3 Meteor Balls
2 Spearheads: one common, the other willow leaf - unfortunately none have mounting holes so I need a metal drill and a vise.
1 Guan Dao: Metal shaft, bronze-like dragonhead throat, spring steel blade. It's actually the first Guan Dao I've ever owned. More bulky weapons. Won't Mrs. Dm be excited.

Don't you need a double dose of amoxicillin if you have meteor balls?

Re: My job is not so bad... - thatguy - 07-07-2011

I put in my notice and left the company that I've been with for the last 16 years. An opportunity came up. I needed a change. I needed stability. I needed to put cash in the bank. I've had the last two weeks off which has been great. Monday I go to the mothership and get to drink the kewl-aid. Stories are mixed from people I know there. They take care of you, or work you to death, or both. I'll be breaking Safari for them. We'll see how this goes...

OMG!! What am I going to do for free stuffit software???

Good luck on the new job. Where are you going? It sounds like a fruit company.

Aside from iPad, does anyone use Safari? Or are you going to turn it into a better competitor for Firefox & Chrome? Anyway, good luck at the new gig! If they work you to death, hope it's like a delicious addiction instead of a Sisyphus kind of deal.

Oh, and on that SSN thing. I know it's saved your butt and all, but a little bird told me some stuff that makes me think you might want to look at alternatives. It's not quite the same, but I find that DropBox thing is pretty handy...

good luck with the new job, tg! - Drunk Monk - 07-07-2011

Mothership kewl-aid ain't so bad. At least that's what I've heard.

Re: My job is not so bad... - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 07-07-2011

Wow!! I hope it is all kinds of good for you. I suppose you'll be able to afford a new motorcycle now...!

For The Queen: Since I switched to The Church of The Mac a few years back, I have been using Safari with no Ill effects. I am a fairly primitive user, though.

Didn't know they made kerosene-fueled Macs...

Puh-LEEZ I am thoroughly modern yeti, yes? Using ethanol, yes?

"Thoroughly Modern Yeti" -- they're playing at Coachella next year, right?
