RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Drunk Monk - 11-07-2018 There were a lot of repeated lines which might make this ep a good drinking game. Take a shot every time you hear ‘mace to the face’ and ‘Incan onslaught’ (a line that gave Marko lots of issues). My line about 200 conquistadors taking out tens of thousands of Incans was repeated in the War Room and my talking head scene. And they cut my sledgehammer lines, which were my fav for this ep. But I got to say ‘penis’ on TV. I RIDE WITH EL REY. First thing he said to Crystal was ‘Are you pregnant?’ She just posted fb pix of her 3 month old daughter. Do the math. She was doing stunts while pregnant. She had a tiny baby bump which we assumed was a muffin top that she concealed with a spanx. The cast members who were suspicious were mad because if true, it was such unnecessary risk. M@A is her most high profile role, so I get it. But it does explain a lot. Another producer just left Defy. He was super cool. Sad to lose him. Fingers crossed for season 3. It’s all about Rebel, methinks. And Danny of course. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - cranefly - 11-09-2018 Sometime after watching Barbed Wire -- yeah, yeah, a guilty pleasure -- I learned that Pamela Anderson had been pregnant during the making. And wearing those insane corsets? She ended up having a miscarriage. Ever after that, I could never look at Pamela Anderson without thinking that she had a really good figure. Oh, damn. Meant to put this on the Thread Hijacking thread. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Drunk Monk - 11-09-2018 (11-09-2018, 08:46 AM)cranefly Wrote: Barbed Wire -- yeah, yeah, a guilty pleasure I confess. I'm with you on this. Crystal ain't no Pam tho. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Greg - 11-09-2018 Nice post RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Greg - 11-12-2018 I have now heard and seen DM say Penis on TV. Yes, Mace to the Face. Yes, Incan onslaught. It seemed like in this episode you were really reaching for something to do with the Incans. And I'm guessing someone fed you research notes for this episode because it doesn't seem to be your area of expertise. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 11-12-2018 “Are you an In*CAN* or an In*Can’t*?” RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Drunk Monk - 11-13-2018 Incan history isn't my specialty but I did a lot of research into Mayan history in High School. My grandfather gave me a tour of Mexico as my graduation present so I studied up on that, plus that's when Chariots of the Gods was big. I've always been fascinated by the notion that the Mayans predicted their own apocalypse accurately. So it really wasn't a big step for me to review it and add the Incan spin, and I actually had a fair amount of talking points that fell to the cutting floor. I wasn't reaching - I was edited. Note that for each of the talking head bits, which only end up worth a few minutes on screen, I was talking about that subject for over an hour. Each. Of course, there's a lot of re-takes for that because it's just me talking to one of the directors or director assistants. For this season, my talking head shoot went super late - there was this slight timing snafu - I can't remember how late we shot but I remember all the directors apologizing profusely for it the next morning. As for the test, I had this riff on how the Macana worked like a sledgehammer and a comparison to Chinese Melon Hammers and Indian Gada that was cut. I'm glad they kept the penis line - I forgot about that. That came up from my own personal web research when trying to figure out what the heck a Macana was. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Greg - 11-13-2018 Okay. I'll allow it. Which is all that really matters. Especially DM's penis. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 11-13-2018 (11-13-2018, 03:13 PM)Greg Wrote: I'm beginning to think nothing is sacred on this forum. No bones about it. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Drunk Monk - 11-13-2018 I actually put in a ton of research for each of the weapons I’m supposed to discuss, and some peripheral research for the ones that I don’t discuss if I have anything helpful. Believe it or not, I’m not just a pretty-face talking head. The showrunners don’t really know that much about weapons and the BK&S guys, DaMon and I spend a lot of effort in damage control because we’ll get called out by our circles. At the same time, I know my role and don’t stress all the work that ends up on the cutting room floor. That’s show biz. My role is to be the Asian hottie and say ‘penis’ because it adds entertainment value. Don’t judge me. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 11-14-2018 Shake that money maker. RE: Man at Arms: Art of War - Greg - 11-14-2018 Are you trying to tell me the producers don't know what they are doing? |
