I missed this in the theater and I was planning to rent it a few weeks ago, but didn't get around to it. Now it's streaming on Hulu. My Hulu has ads which was a bit annoying, but not too bad.
Good story. Tasteful FX, doesn't detract from the story. Good acting - Ken Watanabe and Allison Jinney supporting. Nice score from Hans Zimmer.
Nothing bad to say about this one. Recommended.

PS: reminds me a little of District 9

ok, one beef: they keep referring to "AI" in the film, when they are actually referring to robotic "life forms". The opener is a reel describing the rise of the AI and the war between the humans and AI. But when I think of AI, I imagine non-physical code or algorithms. Like skynet. Maybe "AI" means artificial individual here, rather than artificial intelligence...

It was very pretty but kind of dumb. The visuals were stunning, just some great scenes, but I could have cared less about the story. And much like Gareth Edwards Rogue End, the ending was all about pressing the button so the thing doesn't happen. And pressing the button requires a lot of ludicrous steps.
The movie is so good that I turned it off with about twenty minutes left in the movie so I could go to bed. I caught the rest Sunday morning.
But again, very pretty.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
