A blind girl makes radio broadcasts in a small town in occupied France at the end of World War Two. The Nazis want to stop her because they think she is sending messages to the allied forces to help with the bombing raids. Why the allies are bombing an insignificant French town, I don't know. There is a young german nazi radio operator enamored by the girls broadcasts and is keeping the knowledge of her a secret until he can't.
It's kind of compelling to this point but then the filmmakers throw in a Nazi Jeweler out to round up all the jewels for the Fuhrer. Supposedly the blind girls father, a museum curator in Paris, took all the precious gems from the museum and the Nazi Jeweler wants. Still kind of compelling. But they go one step further. One of the gems is a giant diamond named Heart of Fire and the gem has magic properties. The Nazi Jeweler thinks the magic diamond will cure what ails him. Sigh.
All the Nazis are over the top baddies. (Fix this radio or I will kill you. You have ten seconds to tell me where the girl is before I kill you.) It starts to become comical.
There are four episodes in the show. We watched two last night. Episode Two ends with the blind girl going to the window to see who has come to her front door.
