It's a Wonderful Life
#1
I could have posted this in Bob's music version, but I figured this movie deserves it's own dedicated post. I think I first referenced this film in a Spielberg film and didn't quite know what it was. It just had George Bailey running down the snow covered streets. I think I learned the term Capra-corn at that point, as well.

In college, I took a Screwball Comedy course where we saw the films of Capra juxtaposed against those of Preston Sturges. Capra's movies paled in comparison to Sturges and for many years I would actively go out of my way to avoid Capra films.

I don't know when it changed, but I'm not as dismissive of Capra as I used to. And I watch It's a Wonderful Life a lot around the Christmas time. It's my one guaranteed Christmas movie. Unfortunately, it was on last night at 8pm, the time I'm wrapping things up for the night. I only got to the scene where he's getting the suitcase to go on his trip and discussing his post college plans with his father. I'm hoping it will pop again before the Christmas season ends. Yes, I could buy a copy and watch it whenever I wanted, but that takes all the fun out of finding it on the TV at some random time and giving in to watching it.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
