Steve Martin is a washed-up TV actor who was in a cop show. Martin Short is a has-been Broadway director. Selena Gomez is the girl upstairs. A neighbor kills himself (?) and they meet and start trying to solve it, and are doing a podcast at the same time.
I think it's good. I thought Gomez would be bad, but she's fine. Short and Martin are funny. Nathan Lane turns up. The tone varies, so sometimes it's naturalistic, but then there's some Magic Realism mixed in.
Waiting for the next episode. I think there are two left. I have no idea how this is going to end.

I just wish it wasn't on Hulu or I would watch.

She was great on Wizards of Waverly Place. I knew she had a spark back then.

Just finished Season Two. They revealed the killer the way they did in the old Thin Man movies. It was clever. Teaser for a third season at the end.

I keep thinking to do a free trial of Hulu just to watch this show. And M.O.D.O.K., of course.

And I'm in. Just as soon as I signed up for Hulu as part of the Disney+ bundle, ABC starts airing it for free. I thought I was going to get three episodes from the first night but only one recorded. Still. I have the Hulu.
I liked it. All the cast was good. I like that everyone has secrets and aren't just doing the caricatures that Martin and Short have been doing for years. I loved the bit with Martin and the couple on the street asking to take a picture.
I'm ready to watch more.

We did two episodes on Hulu. I like the fact they don't bleep the swearing. I like that everyone has secrets they are not telling the others. I do like the surreal aspects as well like Martin Shorts character doing A Chorus Line to find the killer.
I have to get through everything before I cancel my subscription in a month.

It's all about OMItB at this point. I'm enjoying all the twists and turns. I like how they don't leave you hanging about mysteries except for the main mystery like Mabel's secrets are quickly sorted. We are at the point where their backer comes under suspicion.

We burned through the last four episodes last night. I enjoyed this very much. I like how they started and ended the show using the same cliff hanger. Well played, OMItB. I liked that both Martin and Short were kind of on tone mute for their characters, although Short was up a couple of notches and Martin did have that scene when he was drugged but they mostly played it straight. I loved all the bits with Tina Fey.
I will be diving in to Season 2 shortly. Can't wait to see what Meryl Streep brings to the table.

Ep02 The Day of Bunny I like the show isn't married to format. In this episode, the spotlight is on the murder victim Bunny and the other three are just side characters. We get her history and backstory. The episode gives more depth to her character. Still funny. The urge to binge is strong.

I caught a couple more episodes last night. Nathan Lane and his son reappear to add some tension. We get more backstory on Mabel. I think the reason I'm enjoying this show is because of the characters and their interactions. The mystery isn't all that compelling but the way every works with everyone else is very enjoyable. Each episode gives someone new to shine. In the latest, it's the production assistant for Tina Fey's podcast character. They break the formula all the time. I also like the greek chorus of the podcast superfans who show up to break the fourth wall and give commentary on the show itself.
I need to get through all these episodes before I cancel my Hulu subscription.

And season 2 is done. This show loves to throw red herrings and I keep falling for them. But it's fun. Although I did guess about one cast member and their role. The shows does a great job of stunt casting. On to season 3 and Meryl Streep.

Season 3 Back to murder where Meryl Streep plays an actress who could never get a job and Paul Rudd plays an unlikeable actor. It's good to be back.

Eps03 and 04 Meryl continues to be the best part about this. Oliver continues to work on transforming his play into a musical. Charles goes into the white room fugue. Mabel tries to solve the murder mystery without the help of the other two. Tina Fey returns. I can only imagine Nathan Lane should pop up soon.
