The Hero (Indian 1966) by Satyajit Ray
#1
A movie star boards a train to travel to Delhi to receive an award.  Enroute, as he encounters fans, wannabe actresses, businessmen, and reporters, he finds himself doing a great deal of soul-searching, reflecting on how stardom has changed him.

But such thoughts are put on hold when he discovers that the train's brakes have failed and that they are headed up through snowy mountain passes, hitting huge drifts, and the lower castes in the rear cars are slowly advancing towards the front, and there just aren't enough axes to stop them all.

No swordfights, but hey, axes.  Dull ones too.

Recommended.
