Lockout
#1
Oh my god the Brotherhood should all watch this atrocious film together. It was unbelievable what was going on onscreen.

Guy Pearce plays some kind of Secret Agent. He's accused of killing one of his informants. He sentenced to thirty years in the new floating prison. If he could find the briefcase that his partner hid, he could prove his innocence. But his partner is also captured and is also sent to the orbital prison. Even though he was caught after Pearce, his trial was only an hour long while Pearces' took two days. Although we never see the trials.

Coincidentally, the president's daughter is touring the new orbiting prison to check on conditions of the prisoners to see if keeping them in chemically induced stasis might have adverse effects on the prisoner's mental health. Naturally, things go balls up. The prisoners escape. They take over the prison. The daughter is captured. Pearce is sent in to rescue her. which means he can also find his partner, Mace and find out where the briefcase is to clear their name.

This film is hilraiously screwed up. Some of the CGI in the beginning looks they borrowed it from a 1990's video game. Pearce wisecracks like he is drugged channeling his inner Bruce Willis/Snake Plissken tough guy. The prison is protected by gatling guns pointed out to protect it from people breaking into prison. Gravity does whatever the script needs it to do. It can be shut off. It can be turned on again. When people jump out of the prison, they naturally fall towards earth. It is amazing.

I vote to see this film if and or when we get the Brotherhood together again. Did I mention it was written by Luc Besson?

There is spitting blood. There isn't a sword fight or Bollywood number.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
