I was the guest of my kung fu cousin who was the mo-cap/choreographer of the series. I met the creators and many of the people behind the scenes, who's name and role I didn't bother to remember. It was a schmoozefest and I was a little out of my element with my cheap suit and scruffy haircut. The only notable celeb was that guy who played the punk kid on Married w/Children, who is voicing someone in Korra. I would NOT have recognized him at all had he not been pointed out to me as he looks like he's in his late 40s now (and still short). Maybe I'll IMDB his name later. There were a lot of stiletto heel pumps. The first three episodes were shown - it looks quite good, very much on par with the original series. There were a lot of weird hors d'oeuvres, like tuna on a tiny corn chip, mini-burgers, the bottoms of ice cream cones, and some sort of sliced beef thing on a weird cracker. Beer was Amstel Light or Newcastle, plus wine and cocktails. It was amusing. That night (and into Sunday morning), we wound up at the spectacular Malibu mansion of some fashion mogul who had made her fortune selling $400 jeans - a gorgeous crib with a pool/patio right over the beach complete with a huge lounge and fireplace, a music studio, lots of illuminated fountains, a full gym, a wing of guest rooms, lots of fine art including a stunning jade yard-high Buddha statue. Apparently she has her own fashion show on some network. There were only 7 of us there. It was all so L.A.
