Bunraku

A bit too long, but colorful and campy. Very stylized, very comic book. Lots of absurd lighting, intentionally-articifial sets, and nods to various genres. Lots of sword fights. It was okay. Another flick that if seen 20 years ago would have been the bomb, but now seems to try a little too hard to be cool in that comic book sort of way. It has its moments, but needs some serious trimming to tighten things up. It's a little too self absorbed with its own style, which gets tiresome after the first hour.

Weird to see this while Demi is going all 911 because of whippets (sounds like a classic whippet syncopal and her friends just freaked out).
