It's a doc written and directed by William Shatner. That should be a 'nuf said' but I'm a writer by trade so I gotta say more.
Shatner interviews all the Star Trek captains, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, Archer and the new Kirk from that awesome movie. Of course, it's really all about Shatner. It's really him coming to terms with being Kirk. I mean really, Bill, that's the role of a lifetime - Kirk is a god damn icon! Who knows how much an original Kirk uniform and phaser will command at auction? Get over it. Be proud of that role.
Picard is as hammy as Shatner in his own weird way. Sisko is fucking crazy - deep space jazz, man. Janeway is surprisingly solid and copes with Bill's quirky questions fairly well. Archer, well, that show was the one that didn't see it through, the death of the tv franchise, and he should be more ashamed - winds up talking more about Quantum Leap. New Kirk is a sport about it all. A sword fight would have been welcome at any point in this doc. Best part is Shatner strolling through a huge Star Trek convention and kissing all the old Star Trek hotties using the same damn line. Damn, I wish I was Kirk.
