It's the year of the 30th High School reunion. I've been invited to the MVHS reunion to play videographer. When I pointed out to to Nicki Barnes that I didn't graduate from Monte Vista, she was amazed. She figured I was always there.

I'll be attending the real graduation reunion in Ireland in October.

The last trip to Los Angeles took a lot out of my father. Because of his oxygen problems, he can't really fly. This weekend they are having a Serra conference at the Huntington Library in Los Angeles.

So..... I am flying up Wednesday and driving him down on Thursday. He attends the conference on Friday and Saturday. I drive him back on Sunday and fly home on Monday. On Friday and Saturday, I work for Stenograph filming the fiancee as she gives a seminar in Long Beach. Lots of finite times to be in specific locations. Nothing could go wrong there.

My mother will be traveling with us, too. She would rather travel the scenic 101 to Los Angeles, the longer route. It would be better for the passenger, she said. My response was 'Who gives a crap about the passenger'. She also mentioned she is afraid of the Pacheco Pass. My suggestion to have her sleep in the trunk during our journey has been tabled pending further discussion.

Have already missed the first hurdle. flight to San Jose cancelled.

I was happy to get the email alert just as I was shutting down the computer. But they said I couldn't change my flight on the web and that I should call Southwest to change the flight. The first thing the auto-responder tells me is that I make changes to my itinerary on-line much faster. I wait. Another voice asks if rather than waiting would I like Southwest to call me back in 2-5 minutes? Sure. I punch in the numbers for the call back.

In 2-5 minutes, the auto-responder calls me back. I then wait online another 2-5 minutes before I talk to the operator. Computers are making my life more convenient.
