The Foot Fist Way
#1
Funny in a low budget way. Hits a little too close to home in many places for the martial arts world, but that's its strength. It's all about Danny MacBride, playing the supreme egotist master - no wonder Will Ferrell likes it. I was hoping for some good belly laughs, but it only elicited a chuckle here and there. Many of the best lines, like 'Your weakness is disgusting to me' and 'I'll give you the basic right of stretching before our battle' will sound better as pull quotes than in the actual film. Might be worth the rent if you like this sort of humor.

As a foot fist way note, a Shaolin disciple brother of mine knows these filmmakers personally. They used to hang. I was hoping he could deliver an inside scoop article for us, but he couldn't make the connection. Perhaps they've grown too big for old friends. I joked to my bro about that and then regretted it because that might have hit too close to home too.
