Spider Noir (2026)

Spider-Man: Noir. May 27. Screw it. I'm giving the show its own site. Final trailer.

fair.

I am looking forward to this even though I don't know the character beyond multiverse references. Cage sells it for me.

I'm amused that there's a B&W trailer and a color one. I'm all about B&W although I've seldom seen modern B&W films that matched the originals, but I admire the attempts.

And that day is today. I’m 2 eps deep. Watched the B&W version. It’s okay. Cage hams it up like he does, doing his best Bogart. HP1 - Mad Eye. Nice to see Li Jun Li again. She was good in Wu Assassins & Sinners.

I was very amused by the Tai Chi jokes. It got me thinking about whether Tai Chi was known back then in NYC, then I stopped myself because thinking about these films spoils them.

I’ll watch more.

Saw the first episode. Opted for B&W since it is Spider-Noir. No Tai-Chi jokes in the first episode. I like the look and feel of the show. Really leaning in on the Noir aspect. Might switch to color to see how it compares. Cage might be a little old for this role but he does bring all the Bogart.

Will watch more.

The Tai Chi jokes are in e2.

It’s a good role for Cage. His age works for me here because he’s yet another reluctant hero being called back to action. But in all fairness, I like Cage’s quirkiness.

@E4. E3 Ben starts to show his detective skills. Cage does a schtick that’s almost Edward G Robinson which struck me as cheesy but is later explained by Ben emulating movie stars. Still amusing. Cage makes it work. He’s not taking it too seriously, having fun with the role and still dropping some emotional scenes. Sticking with the B&W, which has its moments although they seem derivative but I suppose that’s the way to work it.

2 more down, 2 to go.
E5 is the backstory that makes everything make sense. It explains a lot.
E6 has a spiderific hallucination. Luv a good bad trip.
I’ll finish the last 2 soon, maybe tomorrow.
I really like the soundtrack. Great old era tunes played on the edges. Fitting too.
Ready for more action tho.
