My 3rd show here this year. Tara wanted to see this so we came together. Sold out 2 nights. Nice young crowd of Latino hipsters (autographed vinyl is big at merch). Nicely dressed - clean - lots of black lace & boots which Stevie got me hooked on. 
There’s an opening act - julie (lower case) - and a 10pm curfew.

julie is a bad emo 4-piece. The drummer has hair over his face. The lead gal - which is prolly julie - plays guitar and sings offkey. No one seems into it.

The crowd is very brunette, mostly dressed in black. 

Fog coming in. Chilly.

The Marias got the crowd to their feet immediately. The lead is a sultry classy songstress - lots of sing alongs - a very pleasant sound. Cool with a bouncy bass. The crowd is worshipping her.

She’s got a lovely voice. It’s nice to see a woman in a long dress instead of some skimpy showgirl outfit. A class act. She toggles between Spanish & English in her singing and her speaking. So many in the audience know all the lyrics. A very well behaved and attentive audience.

Fans had some sort of app that lit up their phones in a coordinated way. It was lovely. Cheaper than the K-pop wands or the wristbands for Taylor & Shakira.

The show ended at 10 (Sunday curfew) and we hit the road soon after, caught in the post Greek jam trying to make it to university. Then there was road construction slowing university. Then more construction on the bay bridge. We got stuck just past the toll booth. Took us a Feckin hour to cross. Got to Tara’s by midnight. I got to svale by one. Popped some nite cheese, my pm meds, and a melatonin and it’s just starting to kick in…
