Matisyahu is still going but he's moved away from beatboxing and jewish reggae into more traditional reggae. He's slowed down and cannot do those rapid fire raps anymore. And his hair is all white now, bleached by too much Ganga perhaps.
So after a prolonged battle between crews for passes, my supervisor partner opted to commit seppuku and bail (she had only planned to make some cameos, not stay for the duration). Her sig0 joined her in solidarity. And then, after making a tough statement about the whole kerfuffle, we got more passes.
Bother. At least all is resolved amicably, but such unnecessary drama.
Now I can go back to TCEC business...

Packed, locked & loaded. Gonna shoot outta default mode deep into reggae land as soon as I free myself from work. Just gotta remember to pack my new camping chair & stickers to tag it. I should grab something for dinner before I leave or I’m stuck with Denny’s. Soon come…soon come…
I’ll probably be among the first to arrive which means I must break ground, secure wristbands & real estate, and soften the landings of others. Several players will be missing - our main Doc, head of self-care & head of kitchen. I have 3 tents to set up, mine trusty $20 Coleman from 2014, Tara’s (actually Stacy’s because Tara forgot to bring her tent to me yesterday), and Michelle’s (my new padawan from yoga). Tara & Michelle land on Saturday. Friday is my run amuck night.
I hope to see Buju, Mike Love, Boostive, Taurus Riley, & Eli-Mac.
Got them pre-fest tweaks. Hope I can get some sleep tonight. Even though I must get up early tomorrow for the YMAA Q1 meeting, I believe a whiskey nitecap is in order…

It’s a beautiful morning here at Monterey fairgrounds. Crew is waking up.
Major catastrophe getting our kitchen trailer here - flat tire, then bad diesel killing the tow truck but a new rental was secured and a crew went out to retrieve the trailer.
Today is the landing & parking shuffle for the rest of the crew.

Friday was busy.
Fridays are never busy
But JM came together like voltron and Im sataisfied with every solution we provided.
There was an annoying radio issue that got weirdly dramatic within the JNK. Wendy went on some wild tirade
We declared a JNK Jenga champ - Cori! She’s on fire this weekend.
Outrageous lightsaber fights. Dallas, this totally jacked responder, went in the most hilarious sith trip and dominated. Twas awesome.
Tried to get my glow on but under dosed. Last night was my play night. I’ll have Tara & Michelle in tow tomorrow. Getting them in & settled will be a mission. Michelle is noob and were hoping to hook her so Im taking her on a ride. Tara just needs to be caught when she lands, once she’s in, she knows the play.

BUJU was great. Caught most of his set and then crossed front of stage twice just to see.

A spacyg gal whose friend didn’t rouse after repeated narcanning - he rolled. We got her a ride to the hospital from the cops.
A hilarious older dude with a crazy mad hatter hat who was frozen by an edible in the vip lounge for like 4 hours. We got him to his car to sleep it off. Cops were cool with this too as long as he didn’t drive.
Cops have been great.

Fuckin cold
Sun peeped out at sundown and we had to dash up a hill to catch enough to make a shadow
Sacrificed Boostive for Doah’s Daydream. It was a bad play.
Almost nodded out for the meeting
Spent Taurus Riley next to a fire pit and was there long enough to get a vip snack dump. Got some herbs mate which was just the bump I needed
Mike Love was awesome again
The rest was meh. Slightly stupid closed and I only watched it for the lights.
