Bill Graham dies. BGP gets sold many times. They never check in the basement to look at Bill's archives. One purchaser finally does. He rolls everything away in many forty foot trucks and catalogs the memorabilia. Wolfgang's Vault is the result.

Never let me sell my company without checking out my basement first.

I've been in the vault. I was friends with one of the keepers. whe it first got sold, there was a lot of discussion of the fate of what was in the vault. Soem of it disappeared. That site doesn't begin to cover some of the weird stuff that was in there.
I should note that I have a healthy collection of Warfield/Fillmore posters. many are being offered for $75+ now. Uncle Bill knew how to take care of us, even in the long term. Now if I can just find a buyer...

Man, there's some sweet stuff on that vault site. The Rick Griffin selection alone is amazing! Hope you got some of the good stuff Gene.

I didn't get any of the really good stuff, sad to say. My collection of posters is mostly Dead, Phish, and Reggae shows - big surprise, huh? I just got a new one recently for Damian Marley's show. If a Warfield/Fillmore show sells out in advance, they often make a free commerative poster, which they hand out as the patrons leave. Most of those posters get folded and ruined. Almost all of mine are pristine.
From the actual vault, I only have some slides of the Chinese New Year Dead shows - I got them for an article I did a long time ago. My prize slide is me in a flying kick under a lion head, right in front of Mickey Hart. And my lion ass? It was cranefly.

I've sort of perfected the art of the ass.

I almost put this one in my martial world thread because of the tiny martial arts scene in the middle. But then I thought it would sit better here. You know how I love to dredge up old threads...

some one left it on my car after some show (can't remember what). it's a nice credit card like thingy, with a great pic of some people crushed up against the rail. reminds me of working the pit. i gaze at it with a melancholy feeling...
