Jeopardy

Test taken.

That was horrible. I blanked on the very first question (Marie Kando) and it went downhill from there.

If you saw something falling like a rock past you in the beginning, that was me.

LCF and I each took the practice test of 30 clues shortly before.  She got 23.
I got 2.  She didn't believe me.  But that's what I got.  There were three more answers I could have got right, but thought of them too late to type enough in.

For the actual test, I got more than 2, but not by much, and only because there were 50 clues.
I think LCF put herself in the running again.  We'll see.

I took the Tuesday evening test and it sounds like it was a little easier. I blanked on a few (couldn’t remember Pennywise the clown or E.L. James and of course, forget the pop music question!) but I felt really good about a lot of them. Not as good as the year I made it to the in-person audition, though.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Lady Cranefly just got notified.

She moves on to the in-person audition stage.

Not that it exists anymore -- at least not in its prior form.

So this Friday she ZOOMs.

Can you remember to answer in the form of a question?

What is “go, Lady CF”?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Hey, everyone. Thank you for the well-wishes.

It started out a little rocky.  All I had to do was take the 50-question test (by answering the questions out loud) but I couldn't hear the proctor. We futzed between my laptop and phone and she started a new Zoom session before that worked out.

The test went okay, I think.  Once again, I messed up a current music question, though I got the Billie Eilish one, and somehow I remembered that Walloons were associated with Belgium.  I blanked on "Don't Stop Believing," but remembered it after the next question, though I don't know if that still counted. And I totally spaced President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Sappho.  I kept thinking Solon for Sappho and even though I knew it was wrong I couldn't get it out of my head.

I feel like I started pretty strong and then got bogged down.

They recorded the session.  I'll be notified in a few weeks if I go to the next level, though I don't know what that is at this point.  During previous auditions it was the mock game.

Fingers crossed.

Cranefly rocked Final Jeopardy tonight.  (If anything about Jeopardy can be rocked.)  :-)
