Ice Age: The Meltdown

I didn't like Ice Age 1, but it was a rainy day, my kid was driving me crazy and we just had to get out of the house. She didn't really want to go actually, I had to bribe her with a shopping trip to Target. That was a bad sign. I don't like Ray Romano, especially not as a dour mammoth, and even more *not* as a dour mammoth trying to seduce Queen Latifah playing a trans-species mammoth (a mammoth who thinks she's a possum - cue laugh track). That being said, the Skrat parts were funny and my kid really liked that. I would watch a whole movie on Skrat. It was basic slapstick, which is always amusing in animation. There was another funny part with the Sloth Sid that was slightly stolen from Madagascar. The rest was better than standing out in the rain, but not better than being at kids section at Target, which just goes to show....

Was this supposed to be a comedy? If so, where were the funny bits? It was like torture. No. It was torture. My god what a bad film. Bad Bad Bad. I beg to differ on the Scratch, too. How many times can you watch him chase after the acorn and not get it? Please stop. I bet since this film made a few bucks, they are going to make a third one. We need to start the petition now begging them to stop. Think about the children.

The original skrat short was funny. But if you want a bunch of cleverer pointless chases, just watch old Roadrunner cartoons. And it's much better for a child's education to watch old WB cartoons
