Thumbs down. I was sad to read only yesterday that his cancer had returned. It seems that Roger Ebert reviewed my movies for a good portion of my life. And though I often disagreed with his reviews, they were always helpful.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

"At the Movies" was the best review show ever. He didn't dissect a film on acting, cinematography, music, direction etc. . He valued a movie on how it made you feel and how well the filmakers conveyed a message.
Although I disagreed with Roger about video games being "art" (he staunchly said 'No'), I agreed with his reviews more often than Gene.
He also wrote "Beneath the Valley of the Dolls" which makes him a legend.
Take the aisle seat buddy - I like the middle anyway.

It always bothered me that his best foil was named 'Gene' and that I usually agreed with him more.
