Looper
#1
After what seemed an hour of previews, the movie did start. Although in the previews, I did see the trailer for the RZA's flick. It reminded me a lot of Kill Bill Vol1 right down to the appearance of Lucy Liu. And I did enjoy the pre show entertainment because it had an extended look at Skyfall. I'm really looking forward to that one which means it is time to start the moratorium on watching Skyfall trailers and reading Skyfall interviews.

If you have seen one of the billions of Looper trailers, you still have no idea what this film is about. At this point we all know the premise, bad guys from the future send back people to get killed in our time. Simple, right. Well know. It's not quite our time. And Joseph Gordon Levitt plays Bruce Willis. Although the make-up didn't really make it for me.

From there the story gets very convoluted and Levitt's quest to find Willis becomes sort of simmering sub-plot. There were a lot of plots in this film and they played them well together. Did you know Emily Blunt was in the film? Neither did I, but she has a pretty substantial role. What about Jeff Daniels. He is in there, too.

The acting is good. the story is good. It is full surprises. It does get draggy towards the latter half, but it doesn't matter all that much in the end. It's a fun science fiction story with a lot of depth. The visuals are nice. The action scenes are good, but they could use more of them.

I say see it.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

I concur. This movie took me totally by surprise; rent it!
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
