Back to the land of leggings. Staying in LaJolla Cove with a balcony view of the sea across the street. The door lock malfunctioned last night which was a bother, but it's nice. Stacy has been walking to Birdrock to get their awesome coffee - it's about a 3 mile hike each way but it's mostly beach. I've been lazy, just enjoying the balcony. I love balconies.
My kid is now 19.

It was a good trip but I’m back now. More of a drive-by even tho we flew. Ate well, had a great room and got to see her in her natural environment at present. Met several of her friends including two who are fans of my show, or at least said they were to get in with my good graces. That worked. They’d only seen season one tho - hadn’t got to my big P line yet. We’ll see her again next week for T-day.

I should be in San Diego right now. We bought tickets a long time ago to visit for a few days during Tara's spring break. But no. Because of my mom's situation, we had to cancel. So instead I sit a listen to my my mom pant and yelp from her pain.

Vacay back on!
Back in LaJolla at our regular Inn by the Sea. Had b-fast w/our cub at Pannikin - great coffee and burritos (wonderful tortillas, excellent salsa). Now she’s training the new crew at the Muir cafe where she does work study (same place dat Jersey woiks) and we’ll rejoin her for dinner later. Now what to do with the afternoon... maybe a swim? Beach? Used bookstore? I know - nap!

Lounging by the pool won. I live a few blocks from the beach and yet I come hundreds of miles south to sit beside a hotel pool. Twas nice.
Dm strollin about LaJolla while the Mrs takes a yoga class at the hotel gym. Cute exotic gal outside some sort of skin clinic fishin for clients calls out in a sultry euro accent ‘you look like Johnny Depp, you know?’ Dm hasn’t laffed so hard since he saw greg’s Overstuffed bear can.

After Greg took so many pix of DM’s ass while backpacking, I think this is fair game.
Still on vacay. Stacy woke early for a morning trek along the beach to Birdrock cafe - a top shelf coffee place over 3.5 miles away. She’ll have walked 7 miles by the time she gets back. Just for coffee. Really good coffee. She asked if I wanted to go but I’m on vacation. I should add - just for the rollercoaster arc of my world - that my Shaolin Master comes to SJ next week. He’s going to kick my ... ass.

I find Stacy’s choice perfectly reasonable.
