Had a fantastic dinner - baked scallops, shrimp & haddock. Fresh cucumber & tomato salad from the bossmang’s garden.
Now we’re drinking more bourbon - Jefferson’s ocean aged. It’s decent although a negligible finish.

Only if you felt the quake.

NH coffee is unsatisfactory. Had a mediocre lunch - take out from next door. The YMAA office is on the edge of lake Winne so it’s quaint & lovely. Been working on building my new Mac - it’s lightning fast but we’re having a few installation issues.

Is it one of those quaint towns that have a high murder-rate and at least one problem-solving septuagenarian?

That is highly likely.

Today was all about setting up my new Mac which is crazy fast - greased lightning doesn't even begin to describe it. I've complained about my current Mac here before. I clocked myself spending nearly 2 hours a day watching that damn spinning wheel of death. This new Mac is so fast that I barely have to touch the keyboard and it gets it done. I can hardly wait to get it home.

It got to be a long day as our customer service person kinda trapped me with a lot of boring stories. She loves to talk and her stories are long, circuitous, and often not very rewarding, which is to her credit given the customers she has to deal with. Then we got back to the bossmang's house where the two other guys in the company just drove in. His wife is a master cook and laid out a tremendous feast of bbq shrimp & cod, seasoned with fresh herbs from their garden, fresh broccoli from their garden, bbq pineapple, and a mixed rice with almond slivers and herbs, not to mention amazing hor d'oeuvres. Wonderful, although I was once again next to our customer service person and some long winded stories. Fortunately the other two had some solid stories well worth the listen. Most were drinking IPA while the cook and I finished a pleasant bottle of pinot noir from last night, then the bossmang and I worked on that bottle of bourbon. We could've killed it but I didn't want to press the bossmang. I brought huangfeihong peanuts, which is a super charger for me when drinking liquor so I could've gone much harder but no need to knock home the drunken style kung fu tonight. Nothing to prove here. Although I did blow out the candles with my qi blast. It's a party trick of mine that looks like kung fu.

Tomorrow is work then axes...

Axes & Ales.

The meeting this morning was painful. We are each presenting ways we can make our job more efficient. The first presenter put together a rather polished presentation with a wipe board. The second presenter had handouts and she was the only female there and the first presenter kept interupting her, so much that I thought she was on the verge of tears, but it came together at the end. Three more presentations tomorrow including me, but I only have a few points to make and no handouts or anything.

It was painful because the time change is killing me. I hardly slept last night and got up at 4am PST this morning, and gassed out in the meeting despite coffee & iced tea. Most of the discussion was about restocking, which I am not involved in at all.

Fortunately the meeting only went until lunch. Then us boys (the boss and the two other guys) headed over to Axes & Ales. I had a crispy haddock sammich and fries, which was satisfying in that hella greasy beer food way. Then we went to throw axes. I indulged a Guinness on tap, which was refreshing but I started feeling bloated because I've been eating too damn much out here.

Greg & PPFY know how the rest of this story goes. I'm a crappy thrower. It's one of those skills I never learned at all. We threw axes for an hour and I only got a few to stick, and only hit a couple targets, including a rubber duck in the duck module (targets were projected on plywood and had a selection of different games - in the rubber duck game, hitting the rubber duck cost you points). The first presenter was the best - he's a drummer and was sticking his axes like crazy winning most of the rounds.

I still feel a bit bloated.

Just packed my new Mac up. Shipping it out on the way to the airport. I should receive it next week.

Still raining. Not heavy. Hopefully it won’t disrupt my flight.

Thanks?

I’m at Manchester airport. Still raining but it doesn’t look like it’ll inhibit takeoff. Got another hour or so.

So ready to get home.
