That was a fun romp. It was too hot today. 111 in Cupertino. My mom's deck thermometer said 114. I had to go into the office and holed up in the covid recirculating AC all day, but when the work day ended, I didn't want to go bake at my mom's house. She was occupied with a scheduled zoom call till 9pm so I found this playing at a theater nearby.
I had several laugh out loud moments. The twists were expected, but unguessed. I don't recall the plot of The Good, The Bad, and The Weird, but wasn't it everybody after everybody on a train? I give this an additional doom recommendation and will say that I too will probably watch it again. --tg Easter Egg(?) the train platform in the Kyoto station showdown was number 13. I liked it when good luck and bad luck Sat next to each other and you had to wonder what was going to happen next.

Beat me to it. I saw this on their rundown of what is coming to Netflix in December. I've wanted to see it again and now I will.

Need your fix of plot holes, eh?
One of the cool things about the book (which you can borrow on Hoopla) is that each chapter has a graphic of the train with the cars that the action is taking place in highlighted. I found that to be a fascinating device because the train is a linear battleground so you could see how the players moved about and intersected. In all honesty, I'm not quite sure it worked because I sped read it to pluck the key bits for my coverage for Den, but it seemed to work. I might watch it again too.

Rewatching is good. You no longer have to battle your preconceptions and the films become more enjoyable.

Rewatched as my finale for a triple feature of Japanese assassin films (Baby Assassins, The Violence Action were the others).
This holds up remarkably well. I was thoroughly entertained once again and even lol-ed at one of Koji’s quips. A lot of foreshadowing details emerge and the crazy weaving of storylines becomes less tangled. D00M recommended for a 2nd watch.

Planned on watching an hour of this before going to bed. Ended up seeing the whole thing. Very enjoyable on the 2nd pass. I still think they could have made Tangerine and Lemon clearer when they spoke. But that was my only caveat. It was much clearer. I had forgotten a lot of the story so it was fun to be surprised again. Again, they should have done more with conductor Hiro.
