Since I've seen so few films in 2020, I guess it has to be Parasite.

But I wanted it to be more shocking and twisty. I pretty much knew that one family basically conned another family and took over their house, but I wanted something else to happen that made it terrific. Yes, there was the big twist, but it wasn't big enough. I expected when the family returned to the house, they would turn the tables on the other family in some way, that they would be the Parasites in some manner. That's why I was a little underwhelmed.

But they were.  That's what the Ram-don scene was all about.   Ram-don is Korean jjapaguri (instant noodle brands jjapeghetti + neoguri) and by adding the sirloin steak, it symbolized the rich (the steak) leeching from the poor (the ram-don).  Bong created the recipe for this film to make that statement.  It was the centerpoint to the Korean class narrative.

A noodle dish? That was the biting political satire? Deep.

My blunted western sensibilities were looking for something a little more overt.

Nah I just made that up.

Noodles are cool tho. And they mean a lot to us Asians. And Bong did make up that dish, just for the film.

Hmm, maybe I didn’t just make that up.

So you would’ve preferred what? Gone with the Wind?

See 1917. That’s more your speed. Not too many subtitles. Truth be told, I thought that was superior film although I luved them both.

You lied to me? Again?

I'm too trusting, Lucy.

I think Ford vs Ferrari and Knives out will be arriving here before 1917 makes an appearance.

Have we discussed the TV show? It's MCU related.

Martin Scorsese caused something of an uproar last year when he suggested that Marvel movies are "not cinema." It prompted some angry and disappointed responses from fans and those who have worked on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and yet the legendary director didn't back down. In an appearance at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, Mark Ruffalo joked that Scorsese might actually have a solid MCU flick in him just yet.
When taking audience questions, Ruffalo was asked which director he'd like to work with on an MCU movie. "That a good one, that’s really hard," he said, per ComicBook. "That hasn't done any Marvel movies? Martin Scorsese? I have worked with him, but I think he would make an amazing Marvel movie. It would be so dark. It would look a lot like Joker. That’s a great question, I need to put more time into that."

While Scorsese would likely do something great if he was hired for such a gig, it's unlikely to happen due to his apparent disinterest. When asked about the MCU last year, he compared the films to "theme parks," adding that "it isn't cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being."

During the panel at the expo, Ruffalo also talked briefly about his own future in the MCU. Last time he spoke about the role on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he admitted he doesn't know if he will play the character again any time soon. MovieWeb reports that Ruffalo told the audience he was in "preliminary talks" to reprise the Hulk in the Disney+ She-Hulk series. He didn't give away much else about the show, remaining uncharacteristically tight-lipped.
He did address the reports that he was in talks to play one of the leads in HBO's Parasite TV series, however. "We've met. I love him [Bong Joon-ho], I love that movie," Ruffalo said. "I might be playing the father in Parasite on a television show. I would love to do it. We're sort of waiting on the script and all that, but yeah, that's pretty much true and in the works."
Adapted from the Academy Award Best Picture-winning movie of the same name, it was reported earlier this month that HBO was interested in getting Ruffalo to play the lead.

Are you thread hijacking? Is that what you are doing?

I can't wait for all the MCU shows to kick in on Disney+.

Oh, I see. It's there at the bottom. A Parasite TV show sounds like a terrible idea. Didn't they already tell the story in a complete way?

She-Hulk on the other hand, I'm ready. I hope she teams up with She-Thor.

It wasn't a lie.  It was conjecture out loud.

This has been the foundation of our relationship for like 4 decades now.  It works.  Don't spoil it.

No you are. You ask a lotta questions...

We know already.  Man do we know.

Needs whitewashing.  It's the Hollywood way...

Wasn't that Birds of Prey?
