His late 60s-early 70s work was very much an image of the time, like Keith Haring or Basquiat in the 80s, but much more ubiquitous. Until I read the NYT obit, I thought he worked on Yellow Submarine, but it was just a similar style, by Heinz Edelman, who was apparently called "The German Peter Max."
