July 10 – Hijinx

A local Cali reggae band from the Cruz. They were ok. They covered a Rebulution song and y'all know my disdain for them. Then they covered Men at Work's Down Under which I don't think you're allowed to play unless you've got some connection to Oz. They sang a Ganga song and the lot lit up. The smoke plumes in the setting sun were gorgeous. Made me regret not bringing a joint. 

I left before their set was done. 

It was a lovely Friday evening though, and delightful to see my midtown 'hood out and about and enjoying life. Lots of lovely people in their summery attire. Maybe 2-300 people. Over a dozen booths. A taco truck. There was also over a dozen vintage VWs parked in the lot. It was very pleasant.

Next week in Ancestree, another reggae band. Might check that out.
