I am too old to go out on weeknights.
I think bands whose members are 40+ should be required to go on at 8PM with no opening act.
The openers for this show was The Duke Spirit, a hard 'n' loud band from london. They were ok although the power chords blended into one another and all of the songs sounded the same. They played for way too long and didn't leave the stage till 9:30.
Mercury Rev came on a few minutes before 10PM and I was already tired. They launched into one of their signature psychedelic epics and were quite entertaining. Suddenly, the song's chorus kicked in and the stage erupted with strobe lights facing the audience. I was blinded with flashing red lights, the music got louder and I realized it was time for bed.
We stayed for one more song and retinal barrage ("Holes" - My favorite song) then headed back across the bridge to our attention-starved dogs and warm bed.
