A gorgeous day on the Marina - sunny, warm, with a pleasant sea breeze. only about 1000 people and a huge space, so there was plenty of room to enjoy.
G-Love was entertaining, as was the John Butler Trio. Missed the first act.
Phil & Friends rocked it in a mellow yet totally GD way. Mark Karan was opposite Jackie, and Phil was as orchestral as always with his rolling thunder. A great Labor Day Sunday scene. Called China>rider because of the NBC Olympic opening nod. Was really hoping for an end-of-summer tune like U.S. Blues or Half-Step, but no. A surprising Help>Slip>Franklin's taht manfested out of an almost Latin rhythm jam. A fun Sugaree and UJB. The band is tricky now, lots of funky changes and breaks. Very satisfying. There's still nothing that moves me like GD music when it's on and Jackie & Phil are always on nowadays.
