The Queen and I've been watching a lot of the convention. It's been quite the antidote for the doom and gloom of TFG.
I've been recording it and fast forwarding it to the speeches we want to see. Monday was good especially for all the love shown to Joe Biden.
Last night (Tuesday, night two) we were going to watch the speeches again. But we came in and Lil Jon (I thought it was T-Pain) was shouting out for Georgia. WTF? They were doing the roll call to see who voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Wallz. I figure there was no time for this nonsense. I fast forward but I saw Samwise in the blur and stopped again. Sean Astin was introducing for Indiana. Then, we were hooked. There was a DJ spinning different songs for each state. The spokespeople would shout out facts about their states and then give the votes. Who were the idiots voting present? It was fun to guess the song and figure the tie-in.
It was also gave me a sense of patriotism to watch territories like the US Virgin Islands, Guam and Puerto Rico take part, to see all the different colors of our humanity.
I'll be going back tonight to watch the speeches I missed from yesterday. I hear both Obamas were really good and cutting.
