sdchk: larry & jackie jamming acoustic, larry on violin.
set 1: bobby, phil, molo: come together/dark star/loose lucy/west la/wheel + larry & jeff chimenti, lovelight
set 2: jackie & larry acoustic. deep elem, some fast fiddling, warfield waltz, ?please come home? (larry on mandolin) goodnight irene, i'll see you in my dreams.
set 3: pl&f 2008. shakedown, ball & chain, mississippi? ran a complicated ipr call and lost track - althea? stella blue/sugaree + mark karan
set 4: skinny singers? jackie and tim blum (mother hips) and some woman singer. very bluegrass.
set 5: sugar mag (balloon drop) terrapin>rider probably more that got lost in the chaos.
e: truckin, and we bid you good night.
the show was hugely chaotic. grabbing the last moments with friends. lots of people showed up that i hadn't seen in years. it was very bittersweet.
last supper was garlic shrimp topped salmon, cheese tortilini, asparagus, breaded broccoli, finger potatoes, green salad with beets & artichoke hearts (went with the caesar dressing). there was a huge chocolate mousse cake that said 'fare the well, fare the well, we love you more than words can say'. say? everyone caught the lyric mistake. after all, that doesn't even rhyme. god i'll miss backstage dinners at the warfield.
along with the pentatych posters, there was another warfield commemorative poster and commemorative rolling papers. i wish i had grabbed more of those...
i'm still vibrating, from lack of sleep, no doubt. driving is really hard. thinking is harder. interacting with my officemates is challenging, but they're leaving me alone since i'm so grouchy. i remember chanting 'if t get home before daylight i just might get some sleep tonight' it wasn't the first time i've done that, but it's been a long time since i was in that position. i didn't make it. the sun was shining brightly by the time i got home, but what a way to see sunrise....
i hung with the afterparty for an hour or so. they were playing jerry, then they switched to jonny cash, and i decided to make a break for it before getting caught in the monday commute. now it's just another hour or so and i'll go home and sleep some more.
