This is a female Zorro tv show that ran for 22 eps.
It’s bad. The characters are all poorly written and acted. Montoya and his henchmen are overdone. Almost a caricature.
The sword fights are ok for the time. Choreographed by Anthony De Longis, it’s the highlander tv series crew. Tessie Santiago plays the queen of swords (aka Tessa) is gorgeous in her lacy sorro make and plunging bodice (surely that cleavage is why none of the villains can recognize her face because her eyes are up there and no one is looking there). She does many of her own stunts. She has the dumbest signature guard position for rapier and dagger where she holds the sword behind her head with the point towards her adversary. It leaves her distracting cleavage exposed but perhaps that’s the point. In the opening sword fight - a fencing lesson, which is surely exactly what Maestro Yeti’s lessons look like on those rare occasions when his student is old enough to fill out a bodice, the floor is adorned with Thibault’s mysterious circle, which always cheers me up to see because I made that shirt for AFS.
Keep watching? DM does have a soft spot for sword hawties and Tessie totally qualifies. Wonder what became of her…
Elsa Pataki plays the slut spy (she rose to Fast & Furious fame for those of you who don’t know).
The soundtrack is wailing electric guitar solos so signature of that period of action TV, but Tessa’s theme reminds me of Wonder Woman’s theme (Gal’s ww).
Only recommended for D00M swordspeeps, and even then, fast forward to the fight scenes.
Now on freevee so there’s commercials, but now all of Amazon Prime has commercials, so what does it matter? Oddly, one of the commercials was for Amazon prime.
