This film has DM written all over it. 

I was given an online screener that I had 72 hours to watch because I'm scheduled to interview the director soon. I'm also booked for an in-person screener, which I might still attend because I can bring a +1. 

I enjoyed this film a lot. It's very much in the same vein as We Are Lady Parts http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=7558

It's funny and heartfelt - an homage to sisterhood and Muslim female empowerment. The fight choreo is mediocre at best, but it serves more as parody with some Karate Kid crane kicks and Matrix leaps. The costuming is grand, especially the wedding scene, and that helps obscure the mediocre choreo. The dance number is weak for bollywood, but this isn't bollywood (again set in London), so it's more parody. It's all very tongue in cheek, and what stands out is the chemistry of the cast and the witty banter with Brit accents. Sometimes I think the Brit accent was designed for witty banter. 

The lead actresses were fantastic - freaking huge expressive eyes and I'm a sucker for that (too much anime for ol' DM...or not enough). 

Overall, amusing out-of-the-box spin on some old tropes. A fresh take that works in a charming way. D00M recommended.
