Update: I think we're mid-season 1 now. It's more and more evident that this is some alt-history universe as there are elements from various decades, but it's really hard to pin down "when" the present actually is. Alfred is a young man, free after having done 10 years in the SAS. There are dirigibles in the dark London sky, talk of color TV, Black Sabbath covers playing in the titty bar, comments in the telly broadcast about Scandinavians and The Reich.
There are two warring factions trying to take control of England: The Ravens and The No-Name League. Dark times...getting darker.
The show takes a real dark, tho not unexpected turn. Now we have to see how Alfred rises.
