Well I finished this one, and my old favorite is unchanged (at least until I get the other volume of stories).
The book ended with a SF/horror story set on Venus, In the Walls of Eryx, that was quite good. It was much more leanly written than his other work; if he had worked more in that style he could have done some great stuff and been more than a cult figure.
