Here is one of my key thoughts from Ep 03: Boy, they sure did spend a lot of the budget on food set dressing that will all be thrown away at the end of the day. Wasteful.
Lots of beautiful cinematography. One shot that affected me at the time was the king standing alone in front of a giant bonfire.
More plotting to see who will be the heir. The time has jump forward. The king now has a son which is inconvenient since he named his daughter his heir. The battle still rages on with the crab king down in the straights. That leads to some really nice battle sequences. The Princess Heir is not happy with the shenanigans around her that want to marry her off and assume her new young brother will be the next king.
I'm a little put off by the gratuitous violence of the show. I think the goal is to see how horrific they can be I guess in the hope of realism. Personally, don't need it. I particularly don't like the harming of animals even if the animals are CGI.
It's feeling a bit repetitive. The constant quest for an heir. Yes, it is the game of thrones but aren't there others stories to tell while doing that dance?
