I'm leaving this here as a fun fact that I keep stumbling across and re-surprised whenever I see it.
One of the pilots in the 64th Fighter squadron was Art Exon. He led the squad until he was shot down. He ended up in Stalag Luft III, the Great Escape Stalag. But the weird tie-in is if you look up the Roswell Spaceship crash, his name pops up. He was at Wright AFB at the time and flew over the crash site later.
