The dogs stayed barking around 9pm. I went outside to see what caused the commotion. My guess was raccoons. Turned out rain was the source of the commotion. Cool! September Rain! The first lightning blast hit at the same time. Bad. Maeve hates lightning because it presages thunder. But she remained asleep on the bed. Then the power went out. Maeve awoke and whined and cried until 4am until I took her out for her morning Dogwalk. Neither the Queen or I got any sleep.
PG&E said power would be restored by 2:45. They lied. Current estimate is 10am.
I think they shut off the power because of the lightning storm. The only problem with that theory is the power was still on in Mariposa County despite all the lightning crashing around it. I watched the storm from deck after I walked the dog.
