We took the coast. We love our beach time. Hit the road at 5:30AM. Everything was going swimmingly. We had packed food so we only stopped at a few rest stops to piddle (Yuki is with us), once for gas (the prices nowadays...dang), and took a half hour break in Ventura to let Yukz run amok.
LA was longer than expected. What really hit us was LA to SD. That corridor was red tail lights. Took us nearly 3 hours when it should've only been 1+. The trip walloped us at the end.
We arrived in SD at 5PM. 11 hours of pretty much straight driving with that half hour break.
Tara is working tonight but we swung by to pick up her apt mate's dog, Bottles. Yuki and Bottles are BFFs and they were so excited to see each other. We took them to some dog parks.
Then my blood sugar nose dived. Note to self - always pack snacks. Always. Fortunately we're really close to a shopping center and I ducked into Whole Foods for some killer pizza (Greg knows how good food tastes when crashing). We're back at the hotel now - the She-Rat-On. It's pleasant enough.
I'm gonna sleep soon. My head hurts.
