The Little Things (2021)
#1
Oh my god. What the hell is this? It's terrible for one thing.

Raimi Malik and Denzel Washington hunt for a serial killer targeting young women. Jared Leto is their prime suspect but he doesn't show up until halfway through the second act.

It's kind of clunky for acts 1 and 2. Denzel is a Bakersfield deputy who is doing all the crap jobs. For instance, he is sent to Los Angeles for some boots that the LAPD has for a witness in Bakersfield to identify. We slowly learn that Denzel used to be a hotshot detective in Los Angeles. He bumps into the current hotshot detective Raimi Malik. Malik is working on homicide involving a serial killer murdering young woman. Malik invites Denzel to come along to see the latest murder victim, like you do. The next thing you know Malik and Denzel team up to find the killer. So, clunky. Lots of "why are they doing that?" But Denzel and Malik are good actors and there are lots of hint something is messed up with Denzel.

Eventually, the land on Jared Leto as the main suspect. And he does perk up the movie because he is quirky and appears to be messing with the police. But there are so many things wrong with him as the suspect. But they pursue him. And the third act is just stupid after stupid after stupid. Our detectives follow the stupid path relentlessly. Until they get to the very stupid and unsatisfying ending.

I think one of the weirdest moments for me is at the front door to Leto's apartment. When they originally go to arrest him, there is a security screen in front of the door to the apartment. WE see Leto through it when he comes to the door. Later, when Washington goes to pick the lock of the door to gain access to the apartment, there is no security screen. Finally when the cops show up to raid the apartment, the security door is back. It was unfathomable. Maybe I missed something,  but I'm not going back to check.

There's a lot of dumb in this movie. Proceed with caution.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
