I saw it and Eddie was *very* good in Dreamgirls -- far better than anything else I've seen him in. I thought Mark Wahlberg deserved it as much as Eddie, but I"m guessing that Alan Arkin got it for the same reason Scorcese did -- more "body of work" than the specific performance.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
